How to Become a CERT Volunteer

  • Complete the CERT Basic Training Course
  • The 2024 CERT Basic Training Course will be held in October. 
  • The initial training occurs on a Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday (9 am – 5 pm).
  • Followed up by a practical skills test the next Saturday after training.  
    • Dates: To be announced later in 2024
    • Overview of course pdf
  • Complete ICS 100 Introduction to Incident Command, ICS
  • Complete ICS 700 An Introduction to the National Incident Command System
  • Please submit the following information to: em@bonnercountyid.gov
    • Bonner County Emergency Management Volunteer Application (notarized) https://www.bonnercountyid.gov/media/Emergency%20Management/VOLUNTEER_APPLICATION_Final_Fillable.pdf
    • Bonner County Emergency Management Volunteer Application Packet
    • Bonner County Volunteer Background Check or a copy of Concealed Weapon License
    • A copy of the IS-100 FEMA Certificate of Completion
    • A copy of the IS-700 FEMA Certificate of Completion
    • Note:  SID (student identification number) required to take exams: https//cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register
